"You might well remember that nothing can bring you success but yourself."
Napoleon Hill
It seems as we grow older we begin to lose our heroes. When I was a kid I loved playing basketball, I would pretend I was playing against Michael Jordan. I would spend long hours outside playing, and I grew better and better. I tried my hardest to mimic MJ, and I would wish and pray I could be just as good. Sadly, I believe this imagination begins to disappear as we grow older.
No matter what age you are, you should always have heroes. My heroes have changed often, but I'm sure you can tell Napoleon Hill is definitely one now. When we are kids we pay close attention to all of the stats of ours heroes. We know what their batting average is, how much money they are making, what their free throw percentage is and etc... We push ourselves to our limits trying to mimic our heroes accomplishments.
Having a hero forces us to do better. On top of that you learn from all their mistakes and triumphs. You gain their knowledge in many ways, and you begin to do things differently.
