What if you could have a magic lamp like in the Disney classic Aladdin? What would you wish for? How would you feel if whatever you wanted you could have? I would feel powerful to say the least and I would feel as if I could accomplish anything I wanted. Now we might not be able to make pigs fly, but the power of goal setting can make this Disney classic come alive for you as well. Think of it this way: your subconscious mind is the magic genie and your conscious mind is Aladdin. You can have whatever you want out life, you just have to be specific about your wants and know how to ask.
Your brain is a goal seeking organism. Whatever goals you create and give to your subconscious mind your brain will work every day in order to achieve them. The strength of your goals determines the effectiveness of them. Weak goals will produce weak results.
One of the reasons why goal setting is so effective is because of power of the law of attraction. When your goals are strong and specific you will increase the power of the vibrations sent out into the universe. Strong vibrations will pull what it is you seek in your direction. Strong goals have the power to effect your beliefs and emotions. If you focus on a goal and take necessary actions when you are presented with them, everything else will fall into place. You will begin to think and react subconsciously in accordance with your specific goals.
I find it interesting that most people spend more time planning their next vacation than they do planning out their lives. You must create goals that matter! Sure, its OK to create your dream vacation goals and etc, but you must also work on the big stuff as well, such as; career, relationship, and financial goals.
"You want to set a goal that is big enough that in the process of achieving it you become someone worth becoming."
Jim Rohn
Success psychologists say that 95% - 97% of the people in the world do NOT have written goals and fail, while 3-5% have written goals and succeed.
Unfortunately for most people, the odds of success are even lower. This is because of the few people who actually do set strong goals, less than half of them take them seriously. With this series my goal is to teach you the fundamental steps of strong goal setting and how to implement your goals into your daily life. Here's a little video for you to sit back and reminisce for a moment before you get to work!
