How to Learn More and Earn More

In most cases the more we know, the more we earn. This is the belief behind spending four years in college getting a degree. Don't get me wrong, a college education is a great way to leverage your knowledge, but its not the end all be all. The truth is you can become successful beyond your dreams by implementing simple behaviors such as reading for an hour a day, decreasing television or Facebook time and replacing them with learning time, and attending classes or seminars. By doing simple things consistently you can increase your knowledge and level of success. It is my hope that you will implement the tools and advice given in this article to help you learn more and earn more!

Give yourself a Facebook and Television Detox
According to the United States Department of Labor in 2009 the average American age 15 and older spent a majority of their leisure time watching Television. To be exact the average American spent an average 2.8 hours a day watching T.V. That's Incredible. That means Americans on average spend 19.6 hours a week, and 1019.2 hours a year watching Television. That is the equivalent of 42.46 days out of the year. Watching T.V for most of us is equal to working a part time job. At least a part time job would pay.

Imagine what we could accomplish as individuals and a society if we spent that time doing something more constructive like focusing on our own self growth? Don't worry, I wont ask you to trade all of your T.V or Facebook time away, just an hour of it.

Start spending at least an hour worth of time daily focusing on your own self improvement. Do something productive like learn a new language, get into shape, spend quality time with your family, learn to play a instrument, or focus on your business. Whatever it is do something productive and that you enjoy. Stop trading your time for nothing, and invest in yourself and future.

The More You Read, The More Opportunity There Will Be For You To Lead
Jim Rohn taught that if you were to use that extra hour a day reading one book a week, in 10 years you would have read 520 books, and in 20 years more than 1,000. Reading more than 1,000 books in 10 years would be enough to put you in the top 1% of all experts in your field.

Now we are talking about productivity here, so don't jump up with joy and go to the bookshelf and grab a fantasy or romance novel. You must spend this hour daily being as productive as you possibly can. Grab a book that will push you beyond your limits and stretch the capacity of your mind.

Here are a few of my favorites if you are having trouble deciding on where to start:
Think and Grow Rich- by Napoleon Hill
Awaken The Giant Within- by Anthony Robbins
The Success Principles- by Jack Canfield
Twelve Pillars- by Jim Rohn and Chris Widener
The Noticer- by Andy Andrews
Mans Search For Meaning- by Victor E. Frankl

Study The Lives of Great People
Jim Rohn taught that "Success Leaves Clues". Some of the best books you could read are biographies and autobiographies. By reading these types of books you can learn how successful people work. In result you will learn how to become great yourself.

Commit to Journey of Life Long Self Improvement
The amount of information available in the world today is growing exponentially. You can start learning about any topic literally in seconds. This is a great thing if you use it, and if you don't it can be devastating. Because if your not using it, I can guarantee you others are, and those people will get ahead and make it harder for you if your not. Don't let the world pass you bye.

As always, Success Demands Action. It's up to you to decide what you will do with this information. You have the ability to achieve whatever it is you want out of life, but only as long as your willing to do the simple things and go for it. It truly is up to you, more so now, than ever before. So I challenge you to step up to the plate and take a swing. What do you have to lose? If you do you'll lose nothing if it doesn't work out, if you don't you could lose all your dreams and goals. The choice is up to you.
