By using these Ten strategies, you can acquire the mental edge needed in order to reach your full potential.
1. Good Posture
The way a person carries themselves tell a story. Slump shoulders and a lethargic movements display a lack of self confidence. People who demonstrate bad posture usually are not happy about what they are doing or consider themselves important. Stand up straight, keep your head up, and make eye contact with people. If you practice good posture you will make a good impression on others, and instantly feel more confident.
2. Dress Sharp
Clothes do not make the person, but generally the way a person is dressed can make a impression. The way someone dresses also shows how they feel about themselves. If someone just throws on some random clothes, and doesn't put forth any effort, it will show.
3. Walk Faster
Do you usually walk slow or fast? One of the easiest ways to tell how a person is feeling is by watching how they walk. Slow walking people are usually not excited about the current destination. People who walk faster are enthusiastic about where they are going. Begin to walk faster and even if you don't like your destination, you will feel better about it.
4. Be Grateful
Always remember it could always be worth, be happy for what you do have, instead discouraged about what you have yet to achieve. When you focus on what you want, the mind generally gives you reasons why you cannot have it. Focus on what you already have, and your mind will tell you all the reasons to be thankful. Each day take mental note of each thing you are grateful for. I wake up each morning, and the first thing I say is Thank You.
5. Self Improvement
Listen to motivational speakers daily. They are called motivational speakers for a reason, they help keep you motivated. The more motivated a person is, usually the more confident they are. Take time each day to keep track of your improvements, and to go over your goals. I encourage you to purchase some self improvement books or audios to help broaden your horizon.
6. Compliment Others
When people feel negative about themselves they tend to talk badly about others. In order to break this habit, you must begin to compliment others for a job well done. Not only will this make you more well liked, you will find you feel more confident as well.
7. Exercise
Your personal appearance greatly effects ones self confidence. If you are out of shape you will feel less energetic and insecure about yourself. Take time every other day to exercise. As each day goes by increase your daily work out goals, you will instantly feel more confident.
8. Don't Settle For Less
You have the right to want all the good things in life, why settle for anything less? This life is here for you to enjoy it, and be happy. Why not make all your dreams come true?
9. Contribution
Too often we get caught up in our own dreams and desires, we forget to help others. The more people you help, the better you leave this world. A simple smile can change someones day. Do as many things as you can to contribute and help others. The more you contribute, the more you will be rewarded with personal success and recognition.
10. Speak up
Don't be afraid to speak up, your voice deserves to be heard. Many people often stay quite because they are scared about what others will think of their opinions. People are generally much more excepting than most of us imagine. Take the risk and go for it. By speaking up more you will increase your public speaking, which will result in you becoming more confident in your thoughts and you will be recognized as a leader.
