Visualize Your Dream Vacation

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”
Albert Einstein

If you had all the money you wanted, and all the free time you needed, what would you do and where would you go?  Is there one place that you’ve always felt you had a connection with, such as New York City or Disney Land? What is your ultimate vacation?

By planning your dream vacation  and visualizing it often, you can make this dream become reality. This exercise is a good tool to stimulate your imagination. Imagination is the core of a dream, as well as the key to make what you wish, a reality. One of the keys to success is the idea of thinking big. The bigger you think the bigger your expectations for yourself become. The bigger your expectations are, the harder the questions you must ask of yourself. When your questions become harder, the answers must be better. When you have better answers you receive better results.

Visualizing your dream vacation will not only give your self higher expectations but it will also change what you are focusing on. People often focus on all the bad things going on in their lives. If you are focusing on awful things you receive awful results. The reverse also works, the better the things are you focus on, the better results you will receive.

Action steps

1. Pick your favorite vacation spot. Write a promise to yourself stating that you will vacation at this spot by a certain date. Clarity is key in this exercise, the more clear and definite you are the higher your chances of success.

2. Find pictures of your ideal vacation spot and create a vision board. Place your vision board where you can see it daily.

3. List all the reasons why this is your dream vacation. Come up with at least ten reasons.

4. Think of all the emotions you would be feeling if you were currently on this vacation. Write them all down, and then write a statement as if you have already been on the vacation. Spend some time visualizing what it was like and how it would have felt.

My dream vacation spot was Nubble Lighthouse in Maine. This activity can make your dream become a reality.
