Here are twenty steps in order to help you stay motivated. The stronger your motivation and conviction the higher the chances you will succeed. It's been said that only 3% of people actually take action and accomplish their goals. These twenty steps will help you track your progress and keep you working hard to accomplish any goal.
"Everyone who achieves success in a great venture, solves each problem as they came to it. They helped themselves. And they were helped through powers known and unknown to them at the time they set out on their voyage. They keep going regardless of the obstacles they met."
W. Clement Stone
Step 19: Get Excited: Being enthusiastic and excited about your goals can make all the difference in whether or not you achieve them. Learn to be passionate about what you are doing and you will go far!
Step 18: Find A Accountability Partner: Do you know anyone that can help keep you accountable? Your accountability partner could be a spouse, friend, or family member, anyone that will help you stay focused on your goals, and won't let you slack off. Having someone to give support and push us to keep working makes goals much easier to obtain.
Step 17: Visualize: Use pictures to help you visualize your perfect outcome for your goals. For example If you wanted to buy a new boat, post an exact picture of the boat you want where you will see it each morning when you wake up and each night before you go to bed.
Step 16: Find Someone With Similar Goals: Try and find as many people as you can with similar goals, the more people you have the more support you will create.
Step 15: Get Started: Have you been putting off any goals that you know you should have started. Stop procrastinating, and just go for it. As the name of this blog states, Success Demands Action. You will find that the less complaining you do, and the more action you take, the easier things will become.
Step 14: Make It Pleasurable: Many people procrastinate because their goals seem like hard work or they take to much time up. Make your goals pleasurable and treat yourself as you make progress. It's easier to persist, if you gradually improve. Congratulate yourself as you make improvements.
Step 13: Give Your Goals Time: Changes hardly ever happen over night, you must give yourself time to accomplish your goals. You do not need to accomplish them all by night fall, but one at a time in a steady manner that fits your lifestyle.
Step 12: Break Your Bigger Goals Up Into Smaller Goals: Each one of us have large lifetime goals, but hardly any of us know what we will have to achieve piece by piece to get there. Make a time table for your large goals, add smaller goals as check points. Strive to accomplish each goal as you go.
Step 11: Reward Yourself Often: Each chance you get, award yourself for your accomplishments. Your own sense of achievement will grow as long as you know your are constantly achieving more.
Step 10: Find Inspiration On A Daily Basis: Learn to use affirmations to help you stay motivated. There are many tools on this blog that you can use to aid you in staying motivated. Each day before you work on your goals, I would read something inspirational. I update this blog often, so that could be a good place to start :)
Step 9: Get A Coach Or Take Classes: Find a coach or take classes to help you aid your current goals. The more you learn, the more you will achieve.
Step 8: Have Powerful Reasons: Write down all the reasons you want to achieve your goals. Write down all the reasons why accomplishing your goals will bring happiness into your life. Also write down all the reasons how not accomplishing your goals would effect your life.
Step 7: Become Aware Of Your Urges To Quit: Realize why you would quit your goals, and make a commitment to yourself that you will not succumb. Write out a statement for each reason you would quit, then write down a promise that you wont, and why you wont.
Step 6: Do Not Take Short Cuts: Do not skip a day or two because you are feeling lazy. Even if its a tough day at least do the minimum possible. As long as you are doing something daily you are constantly achieving.
Step 5: Visualize Your Goal Daily: Picture in your head each day before you begin working on your goals, all the good things that make accomplishing it worth it. Picture in your mind for about 10-15 minutes who your life would be like if you accomplished everything you wished.
Step 4: Keep A Journal: Keep a journal and write in it daily. Use this to track your improvements and keep you focused. A journal is a great way to self evaluate yourself on whats working and whats not.
Step 3: Create Friendly Competition: Make a wager with some one, or work with someone who's trying to accomplish the same thing. Competition fuels the soul and pushes people to do better.
Step 2: Make A Public Commitment: Tell everyone about your goal, the more people you tell the more you will believe you must complete it.
Step 1: Keep A Positive Attitude: Keep out all negative thoughts, use your positive thoughts to help keep you focused and motivated. Never doubt yourself, and believe that you can achieve all of your goals. The second you start doubting yourself, is the second you start to giving up on your goals.

Hi,
Excellent advice. The "get excited" step is really important. So much of our success flows out of the joy we feel when performing our daily activites.
Thanks for your insight :)
