Napoleon Hill's Poem from Think and Grow Rich

I bargained with life for a penny,
and life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
when I counted my scanty store.

For life is a just employer,
he gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial's hire,
only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.

When I first read Napoleon Hills book Think and Grow Rich and came across this poem, I immediately wrote it down myself, and began to recite it every day in the morning when I arose and at night before I went to sleep. I believe doing this I imprinted on my subconscious mind the power of positive thinking and the power of the law of attraction.

I hope that you will do the same, and watch the wonders of your dreams come true. Life pays you exactly what you ask from it. I hope you take action and realize this, and ask yourself what you are asking for of life, and is it what you want?

I thought about making this poem into a tattoo once.

Then I came to my senses, and simply decided to live life to the MAX.

Grandpa used to read to me from TAGR. His philosophy was simple.

1. Do what it takes.
2. Ask for what you deserve.
3. Never settle for second best or second rate.
