Twenty Self Improvement Steps To Stay Motivated!

Here are twenty self improvement steps to help keep you motivated. The stronger the motivation the more likely you will succeed in accomplishing your goals. It has been said that only 3% of people actually take action and achieve their goals. These twenty self improvement steps will track your progress and keep you motivated!

Step 20: Keep Score of your short term goals: Make a list of all your short term goals. Create a chart in which you can check each one off when you complete each goal. Each time you complete a goal, do something nice for yourself. You will find that if you reward yourself after each completed goal, you will stay motivated longer.

Step 19: Get Excited: Being enthusiastic and excited about your goals can make all the difference in whether or not you achieve them. Learn to be passionate about what you are doing and you will go far!

Step 18: Find A Accountability Partner: Find someone you know that can help keep you accountable? Your accountability partner could be a spouse, friend, or family member. Whoever the person is they must be focused on your goals, and won't let you slack off. Having someone to give support and push us to keep working makes goals much easier to obtain.

Step 17: Visualize: Use pictures to help you visualize your perfect outcome for your goals. For example If you wanted to buy a new boat, post an exact picture of the boat you want where you will see it each morning when you wake up and each night before you go to bed.

Step 16: Find Someone With Similar Goals: Try and find as many people as you can with similar goals, the more people you have the more support you will create.

Step 15: Get Started, Take Action: Have you been putting off any goals that you know you should have started. Stop procrastinating, and just go for it. As the name of this blog states, Success Demands Action. You will find that the less complaining you do, and the more action you take, the easier things will become.

Step 14: Make Work Pleasurable: Many people procrastinate because their goals seem like hard work or they take up to much time. Make your goals pleasurable and treat yourself as you make progress. It's easier to persist, if you gradually improve.Congratulate yourself as you make improvements.

Step 13: Give Your Goals Time: Changes hardly ever happen over night, you must give yourself time to accomplish your goals. You do not need to accomplish them all by night fall, but one at a time in a steady manner that fits your lifestyle.

Step 12: Break Your Bigger Goals Up Into Smaller Goals: Each one of us have large lifetime goals, but hardly any of us know what we will have to achieve piece by piece to get there. Make a time table for your large goals, add smaller goals as check points. Strive to accomplish each goal as you go.

Step 11: Reward Yourself: Set and stay focused on your goals and whenever you get the chance, award yourself for your accomplishments. Your own sense of achievement will grow as long as you know your are constantly achieving more.

Step 10: Commit To Self Improvement: Use affirmations to keep you stay motivated. They're many tools on this blog that you can use to keep motivated. Every day when you wake up read something inspirational. I update this blog often, so that could be a good place to start!

Step 9: Get A Coach Or Take Classes: Find a coach or take classes and follow the advice of successful people! The more you learn, the more you will achieve.

Step 8: Have A Cause: Write down all the reasons you want to achieve your goals and why accomplishing your goals will bring happiness into your life. Also write down all how not accomplishing your goals would effect your life.

Step 7: Confront Your Urge To Quit: Realize why you would quit on your goals, and make a commitment to yourself. Write out a statement for all of the reasons you would quit, then write down a promise that you wont, and why you wont.

Step 6: Don't Take Short Cuts: Do not skip a day or two because you are feeling lazy. Even if its a tough day at least do the minimum possible. As long as you keep busy and do something daily you are constantly achieving. Always look to perform and exceed expectations.

Step 5: Visualize The Completion Goals: Picture in your head each day before you begin working on your goals, all the good things that make accomplishing them worth it. Picture in your mind for about 10-15 minutes what your life would be like if you accomplished everything you wished.

Step 4: Keep A Journal: Keep a journal and write in it daily. Use this to track your improvements and keep you focused. A journal is a great way to self evaluate yourself on whats working and whats not.

Step 3: Create Friendly Competition: Make a bet with some one or find someone who is trying to accomplish the same thing. Friendly competition fuels the soul and pushes people to do better.

Step 2: Make A Public Commitment: Tell everyone about your goal, the more people you tell the more you will believe you must complete it. By telling people what you plan on doing they will help hold you accountable!

Step 1: Keep A Positive Mental Attitude: Keep all of your negative thoughts out and use your positive thoughts to help keep you focused and motivated. Never doubt yourself and believe that you can achieve all of your goals. The second you start doubting yourself, is the second you start giving up on your goals.
