3 Ways to Increase Your Daily Energy

Increase your daily energy

If you are experiencing a lack of energy, no matter what your goals or ambitions are it will be tough to achieve them. People with low energy levels often quit early because they feel burnt out and they get frustrated about their lack of improvement. In order to accomplish our goals and dreams we must develop a daily source of energy to push us through the tough times and reach our fullest potential.

Lets say you live to be 80 years old (Sorry for being morbid, but I am just using this as a example to stress a point). On your 80th birthday you will have lived 29,200 days in total. Putting a number on an estimated amount of days that we are alive gives us perspective and shows us that life is shorter than we often think. It is important to Seize The Day and become all that you can be, life is to short not to. The truth is; that no matter what your current situation, just the fact that you are capable of reading this means that you have a better situation or more available opportunities than most of the world.

Life is too short not to live to your fullest potential. Your dreams and future success depends on what you do daily and in the present. If you are experiencing a lack of energy when working on accomplishing your goals, I encourage you to take these suggestions seriously and I encourage you to try out what will work best for you. If something doesn't seem to work, try something else and continue to develop and test. Everyone is different, and what works for one person might not work for another, but your success is worth the continuous study and effort.

When I am working on increasing my energy I focus on what I call the 3 Essentials of Energy. They are Sleep, Diet, and Exercise. If you want to create daily, long term, and never ending energy, focus on these 3 essentials.

3 Ways to Increase Your Daily Energy:

1. Get Plenty of Sleep:
Many of us feel that we need to sleep as little as possible, we have so much going on and so many things to accomplish. Sure a solid eight hours of sleep sounds great, but who can afford so much time to sleep? Well, the truth is you can't afford not to.

Sleep consists of a series of cycles and stages that restore and refresh your body and mind. Even losing a minimum amount of sleep can effect your daily level of energy. Lack of sleep effects your judgement, coordination, and reaction times. Actually, lack of sleep can even effect you in the same way as being drunk. You must commit to a daily schedule of healthy sleep and stop working your sleep around your daily activities and instead schedule your daily activities around your sleep.

2. Maintain a Healthy Diet:
There is truth to the old saying that "You are what you eat" Studies have shown that certain foods can even increase your level of happiness, and of course energy. Overall the way to produce more energy from what you eat is by increasing your intake of low-glycemic foods that are high in complex carbohydrates and low in excess fats.

The first step is to eliminate fast food and soft drinks. These types of food spike your energy level quickly and then your body plunges dramatically. The next step is focusing on creating a well balanced diet. I am by no means an expert or nutritionist, but these foods are what I have found to work best for me, and they may or may not do the same for you.

My suggestion of foods to add to your diet for optimum energy gain:

1. Whole Grains - Good source of Fiber and Complex Carbohydrates- Examples include whole grain breads, pasta and rice.
2. Bananas - Filled with potassium which helps your muscles contract.
3. Orange Juice - High in vitamin C, which helps you get the most out of iron in other foods.
4. Pasta - When athletes carbo load before a game they usually eat a huge serving of pasta. Extremely high in complex carbohydrates, low in calories, fat, and sodium.
5. Salmon - Salmon is high in protein and has a high concentration of omega-3 fats and B vitamins that can boost your cardiovascular health.
6. Beans - A small and powerful vegetable packed with protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
7. Dried Fruit - A Easy to pack high energy producing snack.
8. Almonds - Ounce by ounce Almonds are the most nutrient packed nut.
9. Yogurt - One cup of low fat yogurt contains close to 13 grams of protein and 17 grams of carbohydrates- This is exactly what you need for great energy.

3. Exercise Daily:
Do you want to live longer, feel better, and have more energy? Look no further than old fashioned exercise. The benefits of regular physical exercise from promoting weight loss, preventing chronic health conditions, and improving sleep, are hard to ignore.

Physical exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues. In fact, regular physical activity helps your entire cardiovascular system — which is the circulation of blood through your heart and blood vessels. Is this a Big deal? You betcha! When your heart and lungs work more efficiently, you will have more energy to do all the things you enjoy. Not only will you have more energy, but you will also feel better about yourself and in most cases find that you are more outgoing.

These three steps in my opinion are crucial to effective energy growth. Take special note of each step and experiment to find which works best for you. It may seem like a daunting task at first, but once you accomplish setting up a daily routine, you will be forever thankful that you did. As always, Success Demands Action, and the choice is in your hands.
