Action Step One: Decide What You Want

The first action step in order to gain success is to decide what you want and why. Once someone decides what they want whether short term or long term, they have built the foundation to that future achievement. In order for anyone to accomplish anything, they first must know what they want and why they want it.

People often wander around life without a definite purpose. They never ask themselves one of the most important questions in life. Why am I here and what am I supposed to do? Sometimes people stumble across the answer to this question without ever realizing it.  Their passion just happens to fall into their lap. They decide that for the rest of their life, they are going to do this. But unfortunately for the vast majority of the world, passions are undiscovered and people continue to live their lives, not on their own terms, but on the terms of others.

When I was 14 years old, my Uncle passed away. He was by far my greatest inspiration. My father worked 60-90 hours a week at a paper mill, so we were often taken care of by my aunt and uncle. My uncle was a business man, everyone used to joke that he could sell snow to a Eskimo. We are all from a small town and upstate new york, and every summer the town would have a weekend of yard sales. 

My uncle would get together all of the sports products he sold and pitch a tent outside of the house. I decided I would like to make some money too, so we went down to the store bought everything required for a lemonade stand and set up shop right next to his tent. Me and my brother made a killing, at least we thought we did, we were satisfied with twenty bucks at that age. From that day on every summer me and my brother would set up a lemonade stand, each year making a little more than the last. On the last summer a week before the yard sale, my uncle passed away. The day he passed, was the day I realized my passion.

I asked my self many questions that day. But one of those questions was, why am I here, what would make my uncle proud. He always was so happy to see us do well with our lemonade stand, and encouraged us as well. I decided I wanted to be like him, always happy and joyful, and a business man of the greatest potential. I asked myself why, and sense that day my actions have created my outcomes.

Whatever moves you to ask yourself what you want out of this life and why you want it, make sure you answer it. Make sure you are clear and remember every out come begins with a decision. Make the decision now to create the outcome of your dreams.

Write these questions down, and answer them truthfully.

1. What would I want my life to be like more than anything else?

2. Why do I Want it that way?

3. Is this something I can achieve? 

4. Are you taking action to achieve this? If yes how and if not why?

5. Are you willing to take every step possible in order to achieve this outcome?

6. Will you start today?

Be who you want to be,

Accomplish what you were meant to!
